Maison louisianne Condiments
Spicy Design Staight From The Bayou
Created May 2007
Maison Louisianne prides themselves in making some of the most deliciously prepared and authentic Louisiana-style condiments in North America. All their products are made with healthy natural ingredients and are prepared home style with love and care. For their new series of condiments, Maison Louisianne wanted their packaging to stand out from the crowd of the standard ketchup and mustards with their bold, bright, and modern interpretations of traditional farmer's market goods.
The packages are designed completely typographically, with no imagery anywhere. Instead, the textured 3 dimensional labels and graphic text act as the imagery. The bold, bright colours contrast the black boxes, giving them a modern graphic appeal that instantly jumps off the shelf. The labels and label typography are designed to be interpreted as modern cross-stitched embroidered patches, like those found on products at craft fairs or farmers markets. Inside, the jars are black, with black lids and coloured labels on top designed to compliment the outer packaging.
